Sarge
In Memoriam
ATTENTION! Salute! Sarge here reporting for duty! I’m on special assignment, looking for my forever home. I’m currently on medical discharge because I have a really nasty case of heartworms and I was deemed unfit for duty. Instead of taking a desk job, I retired and am now looking to settle down, though my military mentality is tough to shake.
I’m a very active boy and I love to do PT! I’m used to jumping fences and running, though my foster mom reports that I haven’t tried this yet. I play very well with other dogs, though I do tend to play a little rough. Hey, it can’t be helped due to my energy levels! I prefer to go outside only with my humans and I’m not keen on being crated. I’ll sing the blues and try to find and exploit every weakness in the crate. The personnel at the shelter advise that I was never crated there and had full run of the place. According to them, I was a perfect gentle dog and was in the process of whipping the troops there into shape.
I’m reasonably housetrained, though I had to take a refresher course. Back from my old days on patrol we used to be outside a lot so I’m quickly getting used to the concept of holding it until I go outside. I really need a family that will love me and can appreciate a traditional colored male German Shepherd. Due to my size and strength, it might be best if there were no kids under 6 years of age. I can get really excited and I wouldn’t want to accidentally knock a child over.
My foster mom is still in the process of learning my true personality. During the heartworm treatment and recovery phase, it is vital to the mission that I remain calm all the time, which is difficult as you can imagine. As my true personality comes out, we will get this bio updated.
