Zelda

Zelda is a wonderfully gentle and sweet girl, who loves people, and wants so much to be loved in return. In her previous life, we think she was harshly corrected. When she first arrived in her foster home, Zelda was very fearful of her foster family, who only wanted to be kind and show her the love and affection she craved. When they spoke to her, she cringed, as if expecting someone to hurt her. Happily, that is now in Zelda’s past. With time and patience, she has come out of her shell, and is very friendly with her foster family, and with visitors to their home, both with people and with other dogs. Zelda is crate trained, but she truly hates being left alone in a crate. Her foster family suspects that she may have been crated excessively in her previous life. They have started to leave Zelda out in the house when they are gone, with access to a doggy door so she can go outside. Zelda has been so well behaved, that her foster family has simply put away the crate for good. Zelda loves other large dogs, and would probably love to be in a home with another large dog as a companion. We think that in the right home, Zelda will continue to develop into the confident German Shepherd Dog that this beautiful girl was born to be.
