As Thalia's foster mom, I can happily tell you that she has brought our family so much joy!  Thalia is truly the sweetest dog you could ever meet.  She is gentle and calm, and very easy going.  She is super smart and extremely food motivated, so training is easy, and she wants to learn.  Thalia is a true German Shepherd in that she wants to be involved with her family and she wants a job to do. Thalia is very content staying home alone as long as she gets solid family time in the evenings.  Thalia is good with children, although she may never have lived in the house with them before, so sometimes you have to help her communicate with them in a way they understand. For example, she likes to paw people to get attention, and sometimes you have to tell her no, because that might not be okay for a young child.  But she has wonderful intentions, loves people, and wants so much to make her people happy.  If you say no, she will listen, respect that, and adjust her behavior.  We don't have another large dog at our house, so we have not seen Thalia interact with other pets in a household setting.  We understand that she got along with other dogs at the shelter and the vet, so she would probably be okay with other large dogs at home.  But she would also be perfectly fine as an only pet.  Some dogs are very unhappy without another dog around.  Thalia is a dog who just loves and craves interacting with people.  She loves food, and is an easy dog to feed since she is not a picky eater.  She really likes certain dog toys, especially if you play with her.  Thalia is very loyal and protective of her home and family, and will regularly patrol the yard.  Once she gets her walk and / or play time, she is quite content relaxing inside with her family.  Thalia came to us very sad, with her head low, exhausted and thin, so it has been so rewarding to see her trust in people again and start to show her amazing personality.  She is very in tune with people and loves to communicate.  She likes to listen, and then at times she likes to communicate back, but we are still trying to figure out everything she is saying!  She totally knows how to let you know when it's meal time or if she wants to play for a bit.  Thalia would be a wonderful member of a family, or a great companion for a single adopter.  If you have a heart full of love, and enjoy spending time with a dog who will adore being with you, then please come meet Thalia.  She is ready to be your new best friend.
