Roxy Roo is gorgeous!  She has a beautiful, shiny coat, that is so soft to touch, and a pleasure to pet. I am her foster mom, and I can tell you that Roxy Roo has been a joy to have in my home. She loves to be with her people, and loves being with other large dogs.  Roxy Roo is at the point in life where she is happy to be active and loves to play, but is calm and well behaved in the house.

The first day here, she was very quick to bond with her canine foster brother, but was a little stand offish with the people. It was as if she was scoping things out, learning the routines of the house, and quietly figuring out what the people expected of her.  On the second day, she was coming to people for petting, and enjoying the interaction.  By the third day, she had totally entered into the daily life of the house, and it was as if she had always lived here. She is so intelligent, and quickly figures out how things run, and what the people expect of her.  She has lovely house manners.  She is house broken, crate trained, and will curl up quietly beside you while you are watching television or working on your computer.  When you are ready to be more active, Roxy Roo is happy to join in, with plenty of energy and a quick, agile body.  At night, she sleeps quietly all night on a dog bed beside her foster's bed, without disturbing anyone.

Roxy Roo is not a nuisance barker, but she will definitely let you know when there is another animal or person around.  She is protective of her foster family, and will bark a firm warning when strangers enter the home. She will keep a watchful eye on them until she is sure her foster family knows and trusts the newcomers.  This is Roxy Roo's second foster home.  At her first foster home, she was being treated for heartworms.  In that home, she lived with a very young child and three cats.  Her previous foster mom said she was very gentle with the small child, and very protective. She was good with the cats, although she was disappointed that they didn't want to play with her. Roxy Roo is good with cats as long as they are confident cats that stand their ground and do not run from her.  If they run, she will chase them. Roxy Roo is great with other large dogs.  If they are larger than her, she is confident enough to hold her own with them.  She is a little over confident with small dogs, and should not go to a home where there is a dog less than 50 lbs.  After her heartworm treatment, Roxy Roo moved to her current foster home to prepare for adoption.  This sweet girl has passed the "highly adoptable" test with flying colors, as long as she is with large dogs and confident cats.  She is an absolutely lovely girl, who is ready for her forever family to love and watch over.  I will be really sad to say goodbye to Roxy Roo, as I have enjoyed having her here so much.  My sad goodbye is your opportunity to bring an intelligent, beautiful, and loving girl into your home. You will be a very lucky adopter if Roxy Roo goes home with you!
