Hi! My name is Roper! I am a tall, friendly guy who is looking for a human companion(s) to call my own. I didn’t have a good early home life, and when GHGSDR rescue took me in, they said I didn’t have any manners at all and needed to learn how to behave myself. I have been living at a board-and-train training center for the last few months, and the nice trainers there taught me how to heel, sit, down, stand, and come on command - both on and off leash. I am even getting more comfortable doing long distance stays, but I do hate sitting out there all by myself. I really enjoy my training sessions, and I am a fast learner, too! One of my favorite things is to get a hug and a tummy rub when I’ve done a good job. Actually, I like hugs and tummy rubs most of the time! I am looking for that special person to bond with and be my BFF. I promise I will be your devoted companion.

Please note:  Roper needs a very active family who wants to spend time working, playing, jogging, or power walking with him on a regular basis.  Roper is an active and devoted companion!  He is very intelligent, and does need to engage in some kind of regular activity that works his body and mind.
