Special Considerations for Adoption: Khaleesi is recovering from an upper respiratory infection and will be ready for adoption after July 22.

Khaleesi is a beautiful girl, both inside and out. She has a soft, sweet, calm disposition that is hard to find in a puppy. Khaleesi loves her crate and goes and lays down in it all on her own. Her crate provides her a sense of security since her self-confidence is on the lower side. Khaleesi enjoys being with people and, at her young age, has really good companionship traits. She will follow her owner everywhere and her desire to please is high. Khaleesi has good house manners and she is a pleasure to have around. When she does something good, Khaleesi really enjoys being praised and receiving rewards. With corrections, however, she responds best to firm but gentle voices. Harsh corrections and loud voices will cause her to become nervous and result in things like submissive urinating or hibernating in her crate. Whoever adopts Khaleesi will need to understand she is only a puppy and she will need caring, loving, and patient owners committed to giving her the training she needs to develop into a confident, adult GSD.

Khaleesi is good with other dogs but does take a while to warm up. Initially, she can be a little unsure of herself in a pack, and will need her owner’s help while she adjusts. Khaleesi is a girl who needs time to adapt to new situations and cannot be rushed. All that I have observed about Khaleesi is very typical of a puppy who has such a soft, sweet, demeanor as hers. She is at that age where obedience training and positive reinforcement is very important to her overall development.

Khaleesi enjoys people and loves receiving pettings and hugs. On an affectionate scale, she rates high. Khaleesi does have a tendency to jump on people and will use her mouth for playing – typical GSD puppy behavior. She is learning not to do this, but she is still a puppy and forgets. Anyone interested in Khaleesi who has small children will need to make sure they supervise all interactions. Khaleesi is a large dog and can accidentally knock over or scratch a small child.

If you are interested in meeting Khaleesi, please complete an application with her name on it. I know she will win your heart.
