Keegan

Keegan is a puppy with the three S’s – soft, sweet, and sensitive. He loves to please his people and, as his foster mom, I love to please him in return with lots of love and affection. Keegan is a gentle, calm energy puppy and has been a good house guest in my home. He is a quick learner and is mostly potty trained. At his young age his bathroom habits are more of a scheduled routine and Keegan is doing very well. I am so proud of him. I am also working with him on some basic obedience training and Keegan is a perfect student. He knows “sit” and to sit at my side on a leash. We are working on walking loose on a leash, down, and stay. Working with Keegan is a lot of fun because he so wants to please me. And, when he gets a reward for doing what I ask, Keegan’s eyes just light up. And, of course, I can’t resist bending down and giving him lots of praise and affection. That is the best part!As for his social skills, Keegan gets along with my big dogs and knows his place in the pack. He loves people and prefers them over playing with my dogs. My gut tells me that as Keegan matures into an adult dog, his companionship, loyalty, and devotion abilities will be very high. He is going to be a large dog, and I am going to ask anyone who wants to adopt him to continue his training. Keegan needs to understand rules and boundaries while he is a puppy, so when he is an adult his family benefits from all the wonderful traits this soft, sweet, sensitive boy has to offer. As cute and adorable as he is, Keegan is a full fledged puppy, complete with all the rough edges and mischief puppies are known for. Regarding homes with children, I prefer no small children for Keegan because, as he grows, he won’t recognize their personal space. This could result in Keegan bumping into them and knocking them down. As for cats and small dogs, I am saying “no” to those. Since I do not know if Keegan will be compatible with cats and small dogs as an adult, I prefer him to be in a home as either an only pet, or with another large dog(s).
