Garrett loves people!  Old or young, and everyone in between, Garrett has never met a person he didn't love.  Garrett is a sweet and affectionate German Shepherd who enoys being with his people all the time.  Garrett ensures his foster mom is safe by staying next to her, in every room. How else can this loving and loyal boy watch over her and be sure she's taken care of?

Garrett was hit by a car on the Beltway in Houston, and left terrified and injured, to fend for himself, in the middle of the heavy traffic.  A kind-hearted Good Samaritan saved his life, taking Garrett to an emergency vet and taking responsibility for his medical care. Despite great efforts to find his original family, nobody ever showed up to claim him.  After surgery, and several weeks at the vet, Garrett went to a foster home to recover.  Garrett happily shares his foster home with two Dobermans, a bulldog, and has miniature dachshund friends who visit.  He is sweet with all humans and loves kids. He is gentle and uses his head to encourage petting.  Even after everything he's been through, Garrett needs no special care, no ongoing medical support, and has no special diet or medications.  He is still underweight and needs to gain, but he has made excellent progress with the help of his foster family.

His foster mom says that Garrett is a calm and intelligent boy with a handsome dark face mask.  He knows sit, come, and lie down.  Garrett is leash trained, and will get in or out of the car when asked, and loves to go for car rides.  He loves basically any activity that keeps him close to people.  His rear right leg where he had surgery has gained plenty of muscle tone, and he is able to walk and run.  Garrett would fit into almost any home, but he would be happiest with someone who is retired or works from home, because being with his people is his passion.

Garrett's foster mom worked hard on writing his bio, but she just couldn't think of enough ways to tell you how sweet and smart and special this beautiful boy truly is.  His tail wags just to hear "good boy," and making his people happy is the only reward he needs.  Garrett is ready to continue his training and to bond with his forever family.  We would love for you to meet Garrett, so you can see for yourself how loving and lovable this wonderful boy really is.
