Elmo

Special Considerations for Adoption:  Elmo will need a reinforced crate, as he is very good at opening it.

Elmo is a beautiful, attention-loving dog who is fitting in nicely with his foster family. My wife, our two German Shepherds, and I have enjoyed welcoming him into our pack. He plays nicely with his foster sisters and responds to corrections given by us, or our dogs, appropriately and immediately.

He takes treats gently, is respectful of boundaries during feeding times, blends in nicely when everyone else is laying about, and understands when it's time to play and when it's time to relax. He is anxious when crated and left alone but is getting better about it everyday. He didn't like sleeping downstairs in his crate by himself, so we moved him upstairs in the bedroom and he sleeps soundly through the night. You can't blame him for that, he is fiercely loyal and loves being with his foster pack. He tends to nibble a little when he is isn't getting the attention he wants or is jealous of attention his foster sisters are getting but he is learning to share attention.

I have loved having Elmo in our house. The very few issues we have noticed with him should be easily eliminated with time and training.
