As Diesel's foster, I'm so happy to introduce this wonderful boy to you! Diesel has a beautiful gait. He doesn't trot, he prances. Head up high, and picking up his feet like a race horse, Diesel is poetry in motion. He has a gorgeous, shiny coat, which glistens when he runs in sunlight. He can be way across the yard, but if you call him, he whirls around and comes galloping back. Diesel also knows commands, such as "sit," "down" and "shake." He is housebroken, and has never had an accident in my house. He is crate trained, but he is such a good boy, so why put him in a crate? He hasn't bothered anything in my house, and only plays with the toys I give him. When inside, he loves toys he can chew on. When we go outside, the large size jolly balls are his all time favorites.

Diesel gets along great with his GSD foster brother. I call him "Mister Congeniality" because he is so good with other large dogs. So far, he has never met another large dog he doesn't like, and they all seem to like him. Diesel loves to run and play with other big dogs. He is usually medium energy, but he does have bursts of exuberant energy, where he tends to try to herd smaller dogs. My GSD takes him on, and they both think it's great good fun, but it might be less enjoyable if you have a small or sedate dog. My GSD also loves to play, but he lets Diesel know when he's had enough. Diesel immediately respects that boundary. My little neighbor, who is in first grade, knocks on my door almost every day and asks, "Can Diesel play?" They have a wonderful time playing together with jolly balls, tug toys, toss rings, and other yard toys. Of course, I am always right there to make sure the play is safe. I think Diesel would be fine for active, school-aged children, who love dogs and are experienced with big dogs. However, as with all interactions between children and dogs, the adult must supervise to ensure safe play that is fun for all concerned. Once he comes back inside, Diesel is the kind of guy who settles down and loves to cuddle. He's very calm and easy going in the house, except for a lot of excitement when his food bowl appears! However, he knows to sit politely before he gets his meals and treats.

At first, Diesel was a little stand-offish with me, and continues to be that way when he meets new people. He is now very attached to me, and wants to be able to see me at all times. He follows me from room to room. Even if I get up in the middle of the night, he will still be sleepily at my side. He loves sleeping in his own bed, which is a very comfortable bolster style dog bed. He sleeps quietly beside me all night without disturbing anyone. Diesel is very affectionate, and really enjoys cuddling and being petted. He has a wonderful personality, and has fit perfectly into my home from the very first day I got him. The best fit for Diesel will be someone who is home a lot, so he doesn't have to be crated. Another big dog and some dog savvy kids to play with would make Diesel's life complete. If you think you are the adopter who can give this sweet boy a fantastic forever home, please fill out an application and ask for Diesel. You just might be the lucky person who gets to adopt this beautiful and loving boy!
