Dean is new to our rescue, and just recently entered his foster home.  He was a stray who found his way into a local shelter.  Dean is a dark sable boy with a very handsome face.  When found, Dean was very, very skinny.  At 50 lbs, he is probably 10-15 lbs underweight.  Dean is a good eater, and his body is already starting to show improvement from good nutrition.   Because he is significantly underweight, it may take a couple of months for Dean to reach his optimal weight.  For personality, Dean is soft and gentle.  Dean's main goal every day is to be affectionate and please his foster family.  He is not a high energy boy, but Dean does have a puppy brain and will need someone committed to helping him become the well mannered, adult boy he wants to be.  Dean's foster family started working with him on some basic obedience commands.  He is a good student and already learned how to walk loosely on a leash.  Dean has all the potential of growing into a deeply, loyal companion pet, but he will need a family who understands how to set boundaries and rules for him. His foster family says Dean is a really good puppy, and they are fully enjoying him.  Dean's foster family is unable to test him with small children, cats or small dogs.  Because he has an overall gentle personality, families with children, cats and small dogs can be considered.  However, these families will have to be open to enrolling Dean in professional obedience training so the adults obtain the skill sets needed to manage him both as a puppy and an adult.
