Special Considerations for Adoption: *THIS DOG IS NOT FOR A FIRST TIME GSD OWNER. A STRONG PACK LEADER WITH GSD EXPERIENCE IS REQUIRED. DARRUS IS A TRUE WORKING GSD.

Meet Darrus! This big boy shares our home with our two adult German Shepherds just fine, but does exhibit some prey drive when it comes to the cat. He is handsome, and he knows it, as he struts around with a proud walk. He turns heads everywhere he goes. He is loose in our home whenever we are home. He has not damaged anything in the time he has been with us. He loves to play with our dogs in the back yard, tug on a rope, and fetch a ball. He is a very affectionate fella.

Darrus has adapted very well in our foster home. He is friendly and wants to meet and play with every dog he meets. He is friendly towards people, once they are properly introduced to him. However, there is a catch to his friendliness. Darrus is protective towards our home. He will bark at anyone who knocks on the door or rings our doorbell. We are confident that he would protect our family should an intruder enter our home. Darrus is protective with a strong mind and a strong body. He is not for the first-time large dog owner. Whoever adopts Darrus will need to properly introduce him to visitors. Darrus is a fantastic dog for someone who is comfortable being a strong pack leader.

He is not a picky eater, does well riding in a car, and is very loyal to his family. He bonds quickly and follows you around the house like Velcro. He also understands when it is quiet time. He is the top of the food chain when it comes to German Shepherd dog personalities. He follows sit, down, and come commands. His confidence and intelligence are obvious to anyone sharing a room with him. Other dogs even seem to recognize his royal traits. Darrus is healthy, happy, and ready to go. He is looking forward to meeting his forever family.
