Hi! My name is Chandler. I'm one big goofy and super friendly boy. Like everyone else, I have a story, but no one except me knows all of it. I had a tragic accident a few months ago and my back was very badly burned. No one knows how it happened, or with what I was burned, only that I was left in a shelter. I am lucky that a kind lady from Greater Houston German Shepherd Dog Rescue came and took me to VERGI. If it wasn't for everyone's hard work and care, I wouldn't have made it to my lovely foster family. I am now almost fully healed. You can barely see where I was hurt and my hair is even starting to grow over my scars! I am still a teenager and have lots of energy so I often run around the yard with my foster brothers and sisters. I have five of them! Can you believe it? It's hard to say what my favorite game is, but I'll go with tug for now (but I do love fetch, too). I am so good at it that I even go bring the toys and put them on my sibling's head to play. I have met other dogs like at the pet store; they barked at me but I couldn't care less.

I know quite a few things too: sit, lay down, stay, wait, leave it, heel, shake... I don't truly realize my size so I sometimes step on my foster family's feet, but other than that I'm a true gentle giant. I absolutely love to cuddle and give kisses! Sadly, because I'm a big boy with big paws, I might scare little kids, but never on purpose.

I know all about being scared. I have my fears, too. For example, I don't like when people touch me when I am eating my dinner. If you want to take my food, tell me and I'll leave it, but please don't try to pet me. I get really scared and I may scare you without meaning to. I also cry like a baby when I hurt myself even a little bit. I once scared my foster mom when I hurt one of my toes on a rock while running and I was whimpering like someone had just bit me. I also get worried every time when we go somewhere with the car and they ask me to get out of the car. You see, I was surrendered at the shelter, and I have fears that you may leave me, too. All I really want is to find my family who will love me forever.

Speaking of my forever family, I can't wait to meet you. I wouldn't mind if you have other furry babies like me, I love everyone! I have so much love to give. I promise to play with you all the time, and my goofy nature and cute face is bound to make you laugh even on the darkest of days.
