Brody

Meet Brody – a big, energetic, playful, and handsome guy.  Brody is adjusting to a pampered new life indoors.  He is very curious about everything, often sticking his head into cupboards, walking into the shower, and checking out closets just to see what is in every nook and cranny.  He loves his dog bed, ceiling fan, cold tile floors after a hot run outside, chew toys, and treats…of ANY kind.

Brody gets along well with big dogs – he lives with a Lab and a Great Dane mix.  Brody had no trouble with his “place” in the pack.  He has been gentle, playful and respectful of the boundaries set by the senior dog.  Brody started off curious about the cat and a little scared when she would hiss.  However, as his confidence and his security that he is in a safe and loving environment has grown, he has grown a little more inquisitive towards the cat.  He shows no aggression, but he can be quite focused on her.  Brody is easily deterred by a squirt bottle of water, but I would not recommend a home with cats for Brody.

Brody never shies away from affection.  He is a huge love bug.  He will give a continuous shower of kisses, and will lean into/on you to get you to keep petting him.  He loves a good belly rub, and will gladly roll over to accommodate you in this endeavor.  Brody loves everyone he meets, male, female, and children of all ages.  Brody can have big spurts of crazy energy, but when he is done, he is a big couch potato.

Brody walks great on a leash, and is learning basic house manners, and commands.  He has mastered sit and how to take treats nicely.  We are working on having him “stay” and he is showing much improvement in just over a week.  He is not difficult to train as he is easily motivated with treats.
