Bacall recently arrived at her foster home, and her foster family is still getting to know her. Here is what we have learned about her so far.  Bacall is a stunningly beautiful black and red girl. She has a sweet, loving temperament, and really enjoys being around people. Bacall has that level of deep loyalty and devotion that people love about GSD’s. Her companion traits are off the charts. Bacall walks well on a leash and knows to be right by my side. She is not a high energy girl and can settle herself down. From what I can tell, Bacall was probably just used as a breeder dog because of her beauty. At times, she demonstrates some nervousness, which leads me to believe she did not receive much TLC in her previous life. Her confidence is on the lower side and it takes her a little longer to adjust to change. Bacall’s ideal home is with owners who are patient, and who understand that she will need time to settle in. As for other pets in the house, Bacall passed an initial cat test so it is possible she can get along with a cat. However, all interactions with a cat must be monitored and managed. As for other dogs, Bacall is best in a home either as an only dog, or with just one other calm energy dog. With children, I recommend no small children. Bacall is a large dog and when she is excited she could knock down a small child.
