Ari

Special Considerations for Adoption:  Ari will do best in a home with another dog (or dogs). She very much wants a role model and will follow along with another dog’s established routine, and feel comfortable more quickly. *In recent experience, Ari just ignored kitties in the home. Her foster family doesn’t have cats, so we’d need to verify if she is still fine with them.

Hi, I’m Ari. I am almost 2 years old, and I have a lovely long black and red coat, and a beautiful fluffy tail. I’m on the smaller side and I’m fully grown. My foster mom says I am a very pretty girl!

I was rescued from a ranch where I was kept with hunting dogs. As a result, I’m exceptionally confident and social with other dogs and I fit right in with them. With people, I’ll just need a couple of days to get comfortable. I was in love with my foster mom by day 2, and the rest of my foster family shortly after that! My 2-legged foster sisters (who are 9 and 6) call me Ari-Berry. I like to play ball and I really love the water! But if you have a pool you don’t want me in, you can just tell me and I won’t go swimming. I’m also your girl if you just want me to watch golf or football on television with you on the couch (but don’t tell anyone...actually I’ll just be napping!).

I’m working on learning all I can from my foster mom and her two GSDs. She told me I’m a medium energy girl. Not sure what that means, but I know come, sit, shake, down, and crate (I’m SUPER at crate), and we are working on stay. I also walk very nicely on a leash.  I really love to go for walks! I am polite when I take treats, and I’m not possessive of my food or toys. I can (and should) be crated during the day while you’re gone. If you are home, I’d love to just hang out with you, and at night I’ll sleep beside your bed all night long without making a peep. I’m also a huge fan of car rides. I like to sit up on the seat like a person so I can look at all the other cars, but I don’t want to help you drive, because I don’t have my license. :-)
