Hi! I’m Rick, but my foster family calls me “Maverick” because, like the Top Gun character, I’m bold, adventurous, and fast as lightning. I can break Mach speeds with my zoomies in the yard, and I always turn heads when I’m out and about. At just 7 months old, I’m fully housebroken and crate-trained, but I still have that irresistible puppy magic.

I’m a confident, happy boy, and I love to explore! On my first day here, I mastered the doggy door by watching my German Shepherd foster sibling. I’ve had a good start in life with someone who loved me, but things changed, and I ended up with my amazing foster family. I know basic commands like “sit” and “no,” and I’m respectful of the furniture and shoes (though my foster mom sometimes leaves them out!).

I’m very smart, eager to please, and always looking to my people for direction. I love to stay active, so I’ll need a family that can keep up with me. I also have a natural herding instinct, so sometimes I need a gentle reminder to play with my toys instead of getting pushy with my foster brother. But once I’m told, I entertain myself for a while.
