Osso

Hi there!  My name is Osso!  You would never know it based on how I run and play, but I am a tripod.  That's right, I only have 3 legs.  When I was a young puppy I suffered trauma to my toe and, long story short, I had to have my hind right leg amputated.  I have been fully healed for several months, and am ready to find my forever home.

I adapted quickly to my foster home, but I am still very young, so I need someone who will be consistent with me and teach me house rules.  For example, my foster parents are teaching me to sit and wait to be let out the door and to sit and wait for my food.  I am doing pretty well with these tasks.  In only two days, my foster mom taught me how to "stay."  She tells me to stay and then goes into another room, and I do not move until she calls me.  She says that I am doing better at walking on a leash and listening to commands, too!

I am crate trained, but I also have been a really good house guest.  I don't jump on furniture or people, and I don't chew anything other than my toys (I love Kong toys and puzzle toys).  When I'm not playing with my toys, I just take a nap.  I get really excited when it is time to go outside.  I also don't mind car rides and I have no problem jumping in the car.

My foster family has a senior German Shepherd and two cats.  I just want to play with everyone, but my foster parents have taught me to leave the cats alone.  I still get curious, though!  The other German Shepherd doesn't want to play as much as I do, but I can take the hint.

While I am great with adults and I am super friendly, I am not aware of my size and since I am always wanting to play, they are unsure of how I would do with younger children.

I love belly rubs, being outside, and being told that I am a good boy!  I would love to meet you (and I promise you won't even know that I only have 3 legs).
