Orion

Hi, I'm Orion! I'm a young sable puppy that was surrendered with my three siblings: Nova, Galaxy, and Aurora. I got picked up by the amazing volunteers at GHGSDR and now I'm in an awesome foster home where I get to play with my foster dad and sister all day long! If you love energetic and curious puppies, look no further.

I spent my entire life in a backyard, so living indoors has been quite an adjustment. Since I come from a working line, I will need an active family to keep me occupied or else I will find something to entertain myself with. I get along with my foster sister really well, but I am a little timid when meeting other dogs. I'm not a very confident pup, so slow introductions are necessary and lots of patience. I haven't met any cats or kids yet, so it's hard to say if we would get along, but I'm happy to try! Just keep in mind that I am pretty young and inexperienced with the world, so I still have a lot to learn.

My foster dad is proud (and surprised) that I haven't had any accidents inside so far, so I am pretty much house-trained. We are also currently working on crate training. One thing is for sure - I am super smart because I figured out how to open my wire crate within a few minutes! Now my foster dad has to get me a heavy duty crate that I can't break out of. I'm a little skittish when it comes to new things, but I'm bravely overcoming my fears! Surprisingly, I'm okay with the vacuum, but random things like flashlights spook me. I don't have a lot of experience with riding in cars, but I'll get in if you get in with me and I'll lay down quietly for the ride. I definitely need some improvement with walking on a leash because I walk around in circles and will tangle you up.

I'm a very sweet and snuggly boy and I'm always wanting to be near my people for support, love, and affection. I would fit in best with a family that can help me build confidence and work with me through new situations. There are some challenges for me to overcome, like learning commands and manners, but with some guidance and patience, I know I'll be able to transform into a well-behaved and awesome pup. If you're looking for a smart, active, and sweet puppy, I'm your guy!
