Hi, I'm Moose and boy, do I have a rags to riches story for you!

I found myself on a manufacturing property seeking shelter from scorching temperatures exceeding 100 degrees at the start of this summer's heatwave. I was exhausted and suffering from malnutrition and dehydration. My chances of survival seemed slim until my foster mom came to my rescue.

Now, I'm strong and healthy again, and in a foster home with some awesome humans and pups! I'm incredibly sociable with people, always seeking affection and love. I have a calm temperament, making me great with kids, dogs, and various situations. I have a wonderful personality and can be described as a gentle giant (I'm a big guy at 90 lbs!) While I'm generally easygoing, I do have some anxiety when it comes to storms and fireworks, but my foster mom has discovered ways to help me through these "booms." Having a forever family will increase my feeling of security and decrease my fear.

I'm crate trained

As for cats, I'm curious and eager to make friends, even though I haven't had the opportunity to do so yet. In my encounters with cats and wildlife during walks, I've shown restraint and respect.

Let's be honest, my house manners aren't flawless – but I'm on the path to being a well-behaved dog and receptive to guidance, much like human children. I'm intelligent and willing to learn more commands if you make the time to teach me. Occasionally, I've been known to "counter surf" for things I shouldn't, like BBQ chicken and ghost pepper wings. But, I'm no worse for wear – after all, I survived as a street dog. Personally, I love shoes, books, and any stuffed things, but my foster mom would recommend that you please put them out of my reach until I've learned.

While I might explore with my nose where I shouldn't, I don't leap onto people or furniture. I have a bit of a singing habit, which, if I do say so myself, sounds better than my foster brother's. Sometimes, I like to join in with sirens, and other times, I simply want reassurance that you're around.

I thoroughly enjoy walks and am well-behaved on a leash. Car rides are a delight, with me leisurely occupying the back seat and observing the passing world. I take up quite a bit of space, so the kids might need to find another ride – just kidding!

If you find it in your heart to adopt me, I promise I'll love you forever and ever! All I want is a forever family that plays with me, teaches me, and loves me.
