Hi, I’m Layla! I spent a little while on the streets, where people were not always kind to me. I just wanted to be loved, but I guess they were afraid of me, so I am learning to trust again.  My foster mom is awesome and so patient with me. I have 2 brothers and being with boys makes me feel calm and more confident. Mom always loves on them, so she must not be too bad right? I’m still not sure about what’s going to happen when someone walks by me, so most of the time I head in the other direction. I am feeling a little more secure every day and there have even been a few times I let my foster mom come up to me and pet me. Now, if Mom has cheese, I will take that right out of her hand! I love cheese! Mom says I am a very gentle eater, and I don’t think it will be long before I’ll be secure enough to take all the treats from her hand! I am working hard on being a loved family pet, because I could definitely get used to this!

I am surprisingly house broken - no accidents at all. I do have a doggie door, which I sometimes use as an escape route if I am unsure of what is going on in the house. I am also crate trained, but will exhibit some anxiety if I am crated in a room by myself, which can be easily solved by putting all the crates together in one room when leaving the house.  I am more confident and secure with other dogs around, so it would be best if there is at least one other dog in the home. I am also an excellent car rider, and enjoy going on errands with my foster mom and siblings. I’m a sweet and beautiful girl, and with time and patience will be a loyal and loving family member. I look forward to meeting you!
