Gavin

Meet Gavin! He is an affectionate and handsome 2 year old boy who has tons of love to give. Gavin is a gorgeous black beauty who stands tall and weighs in at 85 lbs. He is skinny for his size, but with the right diet Gavin will grow into the perfect best friend. This show stopper is a ball of fun who loves to play with his foster brother and sister. Gavin enjoys running around in the back yard and playing with his toys. He does best with a hard nylon bone or kong toys that cannot be chewed up and swallowed. Gavin is house trained. That’s right, not one accident in the house for this guy! Gavin loves to go on walks and does well on a leash. He uses his walk time more for exercise rather than potty time. When Gavin does want to be let out to potty, he will let you know by standing by the back door. Gavin also does well in a kennel and does not jump on furniture unless he is invited to do so. He sleeps in his own bed and lies next to his foster siblings on the floor. Gavin will sleep all night long and will wait patiently until you are ready to get up. What a fantastic boy! This smarty is learning to sit for treats, his food, and at the door when it is time for a walk. We think that Gavin started out as an adorable puppy who probably didn't receive any training or support from his original family. When he started to get very big, he was probably banished to the back yard, where the lack of attention and training meant that nobody ever helped Gavin understand what behaviors were okay and what puppy behaviors it was time to grow out of. However, Gavin is extremely intelligent, and learns quickly. He has happily settled into the routine in his foster home, and with training and consistent expectations, he seems to be maturing quickly. With time, affection, and attention, Gavin will surely develop into the wonderful companion you have been waiting for.
