Special Considerations for Adoption: Augustus is a big, social and playful boy.  He LOVES kids, and is very good with them.  He should not be placed in a home with cats or small (toy) breeds.

Hey there! My name is Augustus, but you can call me Gus, or GusBuster, The Gusmeister, or even Gusopotumus! Augustus means “majestic” or “the increaser”, both which fit me to a T! Although I may not look regal, I am truly devoted to my humans and will treat them like royalty while at the same time greatly increasing the amount of joy in their lives! Honestly!

As you can probably tell from my photos, I am a uniquely adorable German Shepherd Dog. My ears are floppy and my fur is long. My personality, though, is spot on GSD – I’m intelligent, loyal, eager to please, protective, and I’ve mastered the whole Velcro-dog thing. When the heroes of GHGSDR rescued me, I was scrawny and my hair was scarce – none at all really on my tail. Whoa, but look at how fluffy it is now!

I am a very happy go lucky and playful character and I LOVE kids! I really enjoy them and I’m so good with them.  My foster family has two daughters, age 6 and 9, and I am their biggest fan! So, you get it, my #1 priority in life is my humans. You need me, I’m there. You don’t need me, I’m still there for you. You have work to do, I understand...I’ll be waiting next to you, or between you and the door, just in case I need to protect you!
