Kavan Kavan Kavan

Kavan (pronounced KAY-van) is the Gaelic word for handsome and this boy is quite a looker with his shiny black and red coat. Playing is one of his favorite ways to spend time and energy. He enjoys all other dogs and is very friendly to them. As a growing boy Kavan had limited exposure to kind people and the world outside his kennel. You can imagine his pleasure as he slowly learns that humans can actually be trusted. He is quietly suspicious of new people and might shy away or hide but truly wants to believe the world is a safe place now. It's almost as if he can't trust his luck and is just so happy to discover this whole new happy way of life! When his head or body are being rubbed he holds very still, savoring the moment. This is not an aggressive young boy at all, but he will do best in a home with soft-spoken people who can help him continue to gain confidence. He is quickly learning house manners and people manners and will train easily once his forever family has gained his trust. Kavan takes cues from other dogs. When he sees that others are not afraid he is more willing to risk something new by joining in. This is how he learned to take treats from a hand, ask for attention, go through the doggie door, and that it's OK to eat his food when a person is nearby. With continued exposure to the world and basic obedience training Kavan will evolve into the true perfect companion he wants to be.
