Camille was adopted into a wonderful, loving family, and renamed Ziva.  She passed away in 2018, and her grieving mom wrote the Loving Tribute below.

Please excuse me if I ramble on, this is a Hail Mary attempt to help my heart heal. Our beloved Ziva is no longer with us and to be perfectly honest I have never experienced such pain with the loss of an animal in my entire life. That speaks volumes of how amazing she truly was. We were so blessed that this beautiful girl considered us her family. Although, the first couple of days took some trust and understanding on both our parts (even longer for the men in our house). We were determined to show her we were only here to love her and LOVE HER we did. She began to trust men slowly. Our son would spend hours on the floor letting her make the first move, she soon realized he had the best throwing arm in the house and would dance when his truck pulled in the driveway. My husband took the direct approach and won her heart with Blue Bell ice cream (we all think he cheated lol). She went everywhere I could take her and her GSD brother Tux. Every morning we took our daughter to school (sometimes picked her up too), went to the park for a jog – not her favorite thing by the way….distance running was NOT her thing.  We went to barrel races, vacations and adventures. If I had to go into work I would come home just to check on the fur-babies. I wanted to let you all know how absolutely PERFECT she was. She was fiercely protective of our family, she was kind and could melt your heart with those big brown eyes, she was motherly and would protect kittens from her much more prey driven GSD brother Tux. She never tried to leave the yard, never messed with the horses. She loved to chase balls of any kind but wasn’t a fan of returning them and loved water and was ALWAYS laying close by. I know how blessed we were to have had her in our lives but every wonderful memory is bittersweet as I feel cheated that the time we did have wasn’t long enough.

I also wanted to say Thank you to the Greater Houston German Shepherd Dog Rescue for the opportunity to be her mom (family). I am certain when the pain lessens we will adopt again, I know Tux misses his sister as much as we do.

Ziva girl you are greatly missed and ABUNDANTLY LOVED!!!

ORIGINAL BIO:  Camille is a gorgeous young girl who has recently arrived in her foster home.  At first, Camille was very shy and scared, and didn't trust people.  She seemed to be waiting for someone to hurt her.  She seemed completely uncomfortable in the house, as if she had spent her entire life outdoors in somebody's back yard. However, there were three other GSDs living in her foster home when she arrived.  She saw how happy and confident they were with people, and saw them going to people for love and affection.  Now, Camille has come out of her shell, and has become a happy snuggle bunny.  She is enjoying living in the house with plenty of healthy food and clean water, toys everywhere, a soft, cozy bed to sleep in, and all the petting and scratches she wants. We want Camille to find her forever home, and make up for the unhappy beginning of her life when she was neglected and mistreated.  Are you looking for a sweet, affectionate young girl to shower with love and attention?  Then come meet Camille and see if she might be the one for you!
