Summer is a 1 and 1/2 year old female, with beautiful, traditional, black and tan markings. At 58 lbs., her foster family does not expect her to be a much larger dog.  However, she has the beauty, intelligence, loyalty, and temperament of a larger sized German Shepherd.  She would be ideal for someone who would like all the wonderful aspects of German Shepherd Dogs, but just in a slightly smaller package.

Summer is very well trained, and quick to learn.  She already knows commands such as  come, sit, down, etc. She is house trained, and crate trained.  Summer is energetic, and loves to run and chase frisbees.  Her foster family thinks chasing frisbees might be her favorite thing in the whole world!

She is very good with other animals, and never bothers or chases the three cats that reside in her foster home.  She gets along very well with the 10-year-old boy in her foster home, and loves to play with her three German Shepherd foster siblings. Her foster mom thinks Summer would be happiest in a home with another large dog to play with.

Summer is very loving and sweet. She takes treats gently, and at night time she settles down and snuggles up for the evening. She will lay right next to her foster mom on the couch and watch TV.  At night, she sleeps quietly through the night on a dog bed right next to her foster mom's bed, without disturbing anyone.

Summer's foster family believes that whoever adopts this beautiful girl is going to be very lucky!  She does need to go to a home with an adopter who will walk briskly or run with her and throw frisbees for her every single day.  Summer has recently arrived in her foster home, and should be available for adoption right after July 4th.
