GHGSDR Guardian Sponsorship Program

GHGSDR is excited to announce a program that will allow individuals, families, and businesses to sponsor one of the many dogs who come into our group for rehabilitation and adoption into their forever home. The Guardian Sponsorship Program is a financial contribution that helps with the life-saving medical treatment, expenses, and care that are required to save these wonderful dogs and place them in the perfect forever home.

Kya

Hi My name is Kya.......

The beginning of my new life started when I was found running lost by Harris County Animal Control. Although I am young, I looked like an old haggard dog. I had been bred over and over again in my short life, and finally dumped. I was emaciated, exhausted, missing most of my fur, I had a bacterial and a yeast infection of my skin, sarcoptic mange, serious infections in both ears and eyes, a heart murmer, and am HW positive. When I arrived at the shelter, even the people there were shocked, yet they kept telling me how sweet I was. They wanted to help me, so they made some calls, and since I am mostly German Shepherd, they begged Greater Houston GSD Rescue to take me. The rescue group sent out an email to other rescuers asking for help, since they knew I was going to be a large investment. Within two hours, enough funds had been donated that I could be taken from the shelter, and put in Alvin Animal Clinic.
