Gallagher is a big, friendly, affectionate guy. He loves to go for walks, and walks well on a leash. He rides well in the car, and enjoys going out and about with his foster family. Gallagher is very loving, and is always up for a tummy rub or petting and attention. He has wonderful house manners, and a very calm demeanor. Gallagher is a great companion, and wants to be near his foster family all the time. He is crate trained, and stays in his crate when his foster family is gone. However, if he is the only pet in the household, Gallagher's foster family feels that a crate probably wouldn't be necessary. He is very quiet in the evening, and sleeps all night without disturbing anyone.
His foster family has observed that Gallagher does very well on a leash. He can go out with his foster family while on a leash, and is very well behaved around other dogs. However, he may never be a dog you can take to the dog park. When off leash, he can become extremely competitive with other dogs for treats, toys, and attention. It would probably be best for Gallagher to go to a home where he is the only pet. His foster family says he adores people, and is a great dog. He has had some training and knows sit, down, and stay. If his new family understands how to set boundaries and rules for him, and will continue with his training, Gallagher would make a terrific companion and friend. Handsome Gallagher is looking for his forever home where he is the only pet. He is waiting and hoping for his very own family to love!
